Christian Hail was captain of Ifrit when it was intercepted during jump and forced to disengage in the Coyote system. When it became clear that the carrier was lost, Hail ordered that the ship be brought close to Mythos and for the crew to evacuate to the surface, starting with the White Knights.

Hail remained onboard with a number of the bridge crew during Ifrit's descent and eventual ditch into the Tanis sea, where he drowned when the ship went down.
