Vanessa Koonan is Chaz Koonan's wife and the mother of his two children, Matthew Koonan and Luke Koonan.

Vanessa worked with the CSS and CSN continually throughout the Pandoran war, doing whatever she could to help fight against the invaders. She, Matthew and Luke were eventually transferred to Sol when the Enemy fleet closed in on the core Helios systems.

Before his death, Parks arranged for Vanessa to be brought to Earth Orbital One, where the White Knights were, so that she could spend some time with Chaz before the Pandoran navy arrived. It was the first time that she had seen him in many years. Vanessa, Matthew and Luke joined the White Knights for a meal together, before Chaz and the three sought some privacy to plan for any future they might have together.

After the war concluded, Vanessa and Chaz disappeared from Earth Orbital One, Vanessa returning to her life as a freelance journalist, though under an assumed identity. She did not disclosure where she was living, but only that she, Chaz and their boys were happy.
