Chang was stationed at Mandelah Naval Base at the commencement of Operation Menelaus and was assigned to Griffin, as second-line defence, along with the rest of the Dancing Monkeys. However, when Elliott Parks discovered that Simon Dodds and Enrique Todd were still drunk from their previous night's drinking, he reassigned Chang and his squadron to the Initial Run (effectively swapping the two squadrons' duties).

Chang and his squadron were killed during Operation Menelaus when Dragon lured the allied forces into a false sense of security and eliminated all members of the approaching Initial Run group.
