After the loss of Grendel's Mother in 2617, Sima Mandeep took over captaincy of Amarok. The carrier served mostly on the defence line throughout the Pandoran War.

Amarok was one of the few warships that travelled to the Adetton system for phase two of Black Widow and made it back without being destroyed. Even so, the carrier suffered a great deal of damage at the hands of the Enemy, the bridge (buried deeper in the carrier than most other vessels of its type that preceded it) was badly hit.

The carrier participated in the defence and evacuation of Sky, in Alpha Centauri, and finally in the the Battle for the Solar System. Originally posted to second line defence, Mandeep moved the carrier up the field, directing an attack against four enemy frigates, destroying two and leaving the other two (Silversmith's Repoussé and Alysha's Calling) to be finished off later.
