CSN Ifrit

Ifrit is a Confederation starfighter carrier.

One of the three most well recognised carriers of the CSN's fleet, Ifrit can be relied upon to be deployed to any trouble hotspots or zone of contention and deliver the results the Confederation desire.

The carrier is generally commanded by Christian Hail. Key staff include Lucas Short (second-in-command), Alan Cox (helmsman and navigator), Harry Martin (chief communications officer), Nelson Lee and Tammy Dawes.

Post-Operation Menelaus staff include Ian Cole, Michael Adams and Pete Johnson.

The Honour of the Knights [Toggle Spoilers]

Ifrit was one of the three CSN starfighter carriers that participated in Operation Menelaus, in the Aster system. It was commanded by Anthony Hawke, who held the vessel back during the battle to act as rear guard.

Later, Hawke turned control of the carrier over to Jason Zackaria, who then took it to destroy Griffin during the Battle of Phylent. It was disabled by Elliott Parks during the subsequent fight and eventually recovered by Confederation forces after Simon Dodds spaced both Hawke and Zackaria.

The Third Side [Toggle Spoilers]

Ifrit was en-route to the Solaris system, to continue with Special Operations, when it was intercepted in jump by an invading Pandoran force, forcing it back to normal space where it entered the Coyote system, close to the planet Mythos. After a very brief battle in which it was outgunned and outnumbered, acting captain Christian Hail evacuated the White Knights and the rest of the crew, before sealing the ATAFs in the cargo hold. Hail then brought the carrier down onto Mythos.

Ifrit was ditched in the Tanis Sea shortly thereafter, where it sank to a depth of several hundred meters. Unable to save the vessel itself, the combined forces of the CSN, CMI, UNF and MTG worked to salvage the ATAFs. Ifrit was never recovered.
